Welcome to our latest news and pre-fall highlights!

Our story

Charting the course

2021 marks LB Entertainment’s 15 year Anniversary. It has been an exciting journey, filled with music, friendships, and wonderful clients! As a valued and trusted event entertainment partner, LB Entertainment has provided live music entertainment and engaged audiences at some of the most distinguished venues in the Philadelphia area for many social and private events, stage performances, and corporate events for leading organizations.

As we embraced new challenges over the last 18 months due to the pandemic, we also gained new perspectives and insights. We look forward to continuing creating new opportunities and exploring collaboration for in-person, hybrid, or virtual events.

Live music is back

Live music is back! After a summer of cautious reopening and amid an ever-shifting pandemic landscape, Live music and the experience of communal live performances are returning. It’s a sheer pleasure for the musicians to perform again and share their artistry in front of a live audience. It’s equally pleasurable for the returning audience.

Laurent is enjoying the opportunity to lend his musical sound on sax and clarinet to perform contemporary jazz, New Orleans, Caribbean, African jazz, reggae, R&B, calypso, with talented musicians for many occasions. Over the last few months, he had the great opportunity to play for outdoor concerts, weddings, private events, cocktail lounges, restaurants, and senior living communities. We extend our gratitude to our musician friends for booking these performances: Paul Downie, Executive Director at Community Arts Center, and drummer; bassist Bert Harris and guitarist Jocko MacNelly.

Event Spotlight: Philly’s Jazz Trifest (July 9, 10, 11)

The 8th Annual Producer’s Guild & CEC Philly Jazz Trifest produced by Philly’s veteran jazz producer Leo Gadson and held at Community Education Center https://www.cecarts.org/ , presented 3 days of sublime jazz performances with some of Philadelphia’s finest musicians and groups.

Laurent performed on tenor saxophone and percussion with Bert Harris and the Afro Jazz Gumbo band, paying homage to the great South African Jazz composers. The band featured tunes by South African legendary composers Abdullah Ibrahim, Winston Ngozi, Bheki Mseleku, Ibrahim Khalil Shihab and American jazz composers McCoy Tyner and Jackie McClean.

Members of the band included stellar musicians: Bert Harris (double bass), Laurent Bass (tenor saxophone and percussion), David Fiskin (alto saxophone), David Dzubinski (piano), Pio Voluntad (drums) and Karen Smith (djembe and congas).

Partnering with the Meeting and Event Industry – Joining the conversation

MPI Global and MPI Philadelphia Chapter  have provided innumerable resources and support to its members during the pandemic while focusing on the return of face-to-face meetings. Laurent recently attended MPI PHL Chapter’s August meeting, their first “in person” meeting since the pandemic. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect – and reconnect – with many industry professionals and event designers from our area and learn more about the latest news and trends in the Live event and hospitality industry.
